Commemorating 20 years of establishment of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment

On the morning of July 22, the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment in Tra Vinh held a dignified ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary of establishment.

The event was attended by Mr. Lam Minh Dang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Duong Thi Ngoc Tho, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee; representatives of various departments, divisions, branches, and local authorities; retired leaders of the Department and retired managers and specialists from the field of Natural Resources and Environment; representatives from the Departments of Natural Resources and Environment of Long An, Tien Giang, Dong Thap, Ben Tre, Vinh Long provinces; various organizations, enterprises, research institutions, universities, and consulting firms within and outside the province.

In his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Hung, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, highlighted the department's accomplishments over the past 20 years. Notable achievements include: the issuance rate of land use certificates to citizens reaching 99.38%; the complete coverage of the coordinate and elevation grid system across the entire province, with cadastral maps established in 8 out of 9 district-level units; timely completion of administrative procedures for citizens, organizations, and businesses, with a rate of over 98%.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presents Certificates of Merit to the collective of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment for their outstanding contributions and completion of tasks.

Furthermore, achievements include supporting the development of environmental criteria in new rural construction for 85 communes, where 8 out of 9 district-level units met the standards and completed their new rural tasks. The department maintained the results of 26 environmental protection indicators (PEPI, PGI) for the years 2020, 2021, and 2022, achieving high scores and ranking among the top 5 nationwide. The completion of tasks such as building a comprehensive provincial land database with 779,000 land parcels and establishing a network of 21 online monitoring stations were also highlighted.

Representing all employees in the field, Mr. Tran Van Hung expressed a firm determination and the utmost effort to excel in their tasks, responding strongly to the emulation campaigns initiated by the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

During his directive speech at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, recognized and praised the consistent efforts of generations of civil servants, public employees, and workers in the natural resources and environment sector. He congratulated the sector for its achievements over the years.

Additionally, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien suggested that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment continue their efforts to amplify the accomplishments achieved, maintain close unity, synchronize their determination and actions to achieve the objectives set in the 11th Provincial Party Congress. He emphasized the importance of completing the tasks of building Tra Vinh province to meet new rural standards by 2025, underlining the significance of strong management, sustainable use of resources, and the application of information technology in administrative procedures.

The Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, authorized by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, presents Commemorative Medals to individuals.

In line with the occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 12 individuals for their outstanding contributions to the department's tasks. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment granted Commemorative Medals for the cause of natural resources and the environment to 69 individuals.

The ceremony also saw the Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment bestow certificates of merit upon 10 collectives and 28 individuals for their exemplary achievements, commemorating the 20 years since the establishment of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
