Traffic infrastructure

a) Road traffic:
Tra Vinh has 04 main national highways, 53, 53B, 54 and 60, connecting Tra Vinh province smoothly with Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in the Mekong Delta region (about 130 km from Ho Chi Minh City in the direction of National Highway 60 and about 90 km from Can Tho city in the direction of National Highway 53).
In addition, the Prime Minister approved the road network planning for the period 2021 2030, Tra Vinh province is invested in 02 projects of expressway and coastal corridor route:
Expressway: Hong Ngu (Dong Thap) - Tra Vinh (to Dinh An Economic Zone)
Expressway: Ho Chi Minh City - Tien Giang - Ben Tre - Tra Vinh - Soc Trang and the coastal corridor route connecting with Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, Tien Giang provinces and Ho Chi Minh City with a scale of level 3 delta, ensuring road traffic.

b) Waterway traffic

Thanks to its geographical advantages, Tra Vinh is also the customs clearance gateway of the Mekong Delta region with a system of river ports, seaports and fairways for large tonnage ships entering the Hau River. This channel plays the role of a long-term stable lifeline, attracting investment in industrial parks and economic zones, and becoming an important trade gateway of the Mekong Delta region to other regions in the country and around the world by waterway, creating a new driving force in local economic development.
According to the development plan of Vietnam's seaport system in the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Tra Vinh seaport system is a class I seaport, including: Duyen Hai - Dinh An wharf area (receiving ships of up to 50,000 tons), Tra Cu - Kim Son wharf area (receiving ships of up to 20,000 tons), buoy wharf and anchorage areas for transshipment to avoid and shelter from storms, in which, Duyen Hai - Dinh An wharf area is a general wharf of container and liquid/gas cargo with the function of serving the Mekong Delta.
