Potentials and advantages for the development of agriculture - fishery

Rice cultivation area is over 209,000 ha with an output of over 1 million tons /year; area for the coconut trees re about 25,000 ha with an output of over 316,000 tons/year; crops and food crops are over 6,000 ha; crops producing food coloring is over 30,000 ha; short-term industrial plants and other annual crops are over 13,000 ha; fruit trees are about 35,100 ha with an output of over 577,000 tons/year (orange, mango, longan, dragon fruit, banana, pomelo, etc.).

Breeding has the scale of over 200,000 heads of pigs/year, over 220,000 heads of buffaloes and cows /year, over 22,000 heads of goats/year, and over 6.9 million heads of poultry /year.

The annual aquaculture area is over 55,000 ha; in which: The area of intensive and semi- intensive aquaculture is over 17,500 ha (884 ha of intensive aquaculture with high density), the productivity is from 50-70 tons/ha, an area of about 5,800 ha is maintained for ecological shrimp farming combined with afforestation and 5,600 ha for rice cultivation aquaculture; new technical advances have been applied to production, quality seeds have been widely used, and technical staff has been sent to the area to directly support and advise aquaculture households. There are over 1,100 fishing vessels with a total capacity of -150,000 CV (266 vessels with a length of 15 m or more). Total seafood production in the year is estimated at 220,000 tons/year. 
A large area of agricultural production and aquaculture, along with favorable conditions in terms of weather, climate, policies, investment environment, etc. is an opportunity for investors to choose Tra Vinh province to invest in green and clean agriculture; organic agriculture; hi-tech agriculture, and organic and ecological shrimp farming; concentrated high-tech aquaculture; and to invest in factories processing agricultural and aquatic products for export.
